Remembering the dimensions of side panes
Aleksi Lukkarinen
All widths and heights of side panes (such as the ones for coding stripes and annotations in detail view) must be remembered so that the user does not need to resize them every single time a new detail view is opened. At the moment I'm quite frustrated, because those panes are created using some precalculated dimensions, which makes them to take a large part of the screen space and causes me to have to reduce their size dramatically every time I open a new document, which at the moment is very frequently (browsing through hundreds of documents). The user should be able to take the existence of elementary and usability-wise crucial functionality like this for granted everywhere.

Totally agree. There is currently no way to change the default pane size, and what's worse, the default size cuts the text of files, so you always need to slide it further to the right to read the full text.
It would also be nice to have options to remember the "coding stripes" and "highlight" options. I have over 60 interviews and it is just a pain that pane width, coding stripes and highlight all reset and have to be reconfigured every single time I open a new file.
