Request Feature

I am working with a large qualitative dataset and I am super frustrated that I cannot exclude a portion of my coding output as much of it is double-coded with very different meanings depending on the second code. I know Windows has this feature, why can you not do it for Mac :(

As a Mac user I don't understand the differences between the windows & mac versions. I need to run Parallels and Windows on my Mac (making it cumbersome and slow) just for NVivo to run. It would be great if both versions could offer the same features. And I strongly suggest making the conversion work. I haven't tried it recently but saving a windows file as mac used to delete most of the content!

Highlighter is only yellow, but it would be great to have different colors of highlighters (maybe matching the coding stripe colors?) so we can see different codes directly on the text at the same time.

Nvivo for Mac DOES NOT allow you to run queries that exclude nodes/codes. Nvivo for Windows DOES have this feature where you can select queries that are "Coded at" and "Not Coded at". Identifying that Nvivo for Mac did not have this feature was not easy or quick. Most of the online tutorials and resources do not address that function. Even the Nvivo features comparisons, https://www.qsrinternational.com/nvivo/nvivo-products/nvivo-product-suite-overview , makes it seem as all three versions have the same features for Coding Query, "Explore and ask questions about your coding to find overlaps and intersections using operators like AND & OR." It does have an additional feature that specifically states that Not operator only available with Nvivo for Windows. Would be helpful to add that to your feature comparisons.

It would be great for queries to default to cases instead of references. It always takes a LONG time to do this switch with big datasets. Similarly, it would be nice to see N cases as an option in the main coding window.

The new feature of showing highlights of stripes when you hover is great, but when I do this, it takes away the overall highlighting I use when I code. I.e., I turn on highlighting for all codes to track what I've done as I'm going through a transcript. When I hover over a stripe, it shows the stripe's color/coding (which is great!), but I have to reset all my other highlights every time. Can you just flash the stripe's colors and go back to the previous highlighting unless you click the stripe (as it was before)? Or make it go back to your default settings or something else...?

Every time I create a new code while coding, I have to open the 'Highlight' menu and tick the box next to that new code so that it is highlighted, even though 'Automatically select descendant codes' is selected. This is very annoying.I would like an option to automatically highlight newly created descendant codes. Thank you.

Currently, highlight colour only changes to match coding stripe when the code is selected. I would love the option of having all highlights to match code stripe colours permanently, even when no codes are selected.
