Manage level of codes shown in diagrams, maps,...

When applying thematic coding or in vivo coding, the lowest level of codes is often not useful to compare in diagrams or charts. It would be great if you can control which level of codes is shown, counting from the top level downwards, so you don't have an unmanagable multitude of codes shown.

You can show individual levels to any desired level by exporting your codes to Excel (Export->Export List') to show the various levels. I hope this response is helpful.

Ben Meehan: Thank you for the reply! This is indeed what I'm doing now, but I was giving the suggestion to implement it in the different visualization and query tools within NVIVO itself, which would allow for more smooth and easy analysis of data

Dries V.E.: Sure! but you can already do this in NVivo using a matrix or crosstab which also has built in visualisations.
