A long-standing problem with the program is the horrible post-import formatting of doc/docx files (particularly doc versions of journal articles). I have wasted countless hours trying to fix the text display of imported Word docs (e.g., changing font, resolving kerning issues, fixing line display, etc.).

It would be nice if the program gave the option to strip formatting or apply a fixed structure formatting (e.g., font type, size, weight, justification, wrapping, spacing, etc.) and apply a standardized formatting )to allow for auto-coding, etc.). Otherwise, the amount of work required to re-format imported documents makes using the program far less appealing (especially for new users).

I would suggest the same for the import of PDF docs.
