Add a note while coding; Code & Comment option

While coding parts of a text in a file such as PDF, it would be great if there is an option to add few words to that coding and that specific part of the text. It can be a comment like the bubble in MS Excel, but ideally comments are to be compiled in a memo file that has the original file's name i.e. the PDF's name in this example. It is also similar to adding a comment to a certain text on MS Word, but with the added benefit of coding right next to it. For example, when I click right-menu on a highlighted text, one option is Code & Comment. After coding and commenting simultaneously at that file, a Memo of those codes and comments are generated automatically and can be edited. If this is possible, I will not be using anything but NVivo.

This facility already exists in NVivo. You can use annotations to do exactly as you wish (enter linked comments against specific text in a PDF file). I hope this is helpful. Kind regards, Ben

A better option would be to be able to open a second window so you can write a memo or comment at the same time your coding window is open. Also, in the Mac version why is there no ability to open a floating window. I understand that it was enabled in the windows version, still cannot do it in the Mac version, anywhere that i can find.
