I'm working with a faculty member who will be using NVivo Plus to analyze Twitter data captured with NCapture. The tweet data that NCapture gets from the Twitter API cuts the tweets off at 140 characters. Example:
Tweet in nvivo data base:
RT @leoniehaimson: shocking. W/in hours of #janus decision NY teachers got messages from right-wing DeVos funded org telling them to opt ou…
Actual Tweet:
shocking. W/in hours of #janus decision NY teachers got messages from right-wing DeVos funded org telling them to opt out of union. But how did they get their email addresses? Cc @nysut @marla_kilfoyle @rweingarten @TeacherArthurG @palan57 @DianeRavitch
This appears to be due to an API change that occurred when Twitter increased the character limit from 140 characters to 280 characters: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/tweet-updates

Kristin Yeager We made a change in November 2017 to support 280 characters in tweets. Please ensure you are running the latest version of NCapture and let us know if this issue still persists.

VinceQSR: Thank you. I verified that I'm running the most recent update of NCapture for Chrome (1.0.220.0), and updated NCapture for IE11 (to 1.0.257.0). I captured tweets from several different accounts (@RStudio, @Stata) and both plugins appear to correctly capture long original tweets, but retweets are still truncated to 140 characters.
