It'd be convenient. I use Mac12 NVivo and I have to rely on coding stripes shown on the right-hand side of the screen. This can be a bit inconvenient if you're dealing with a lot of codes within a narrow scope of text. Thank you.

It'd be great to view imported text files in an inverted or white-on-gray view to ease eyestrain during coding. The dark mode interface is lovely, but the white text window gets intense after a few hours.

It would be very useful to have the option to code non-contiguous text in a single reference. I.e. as is done in other programs by selecting text then pushing control and selecting additional text non-contiguous to the first selection.

This feature is available on Windows but currently not on MAC. There are ways to work around the problem but it would take a lot of time for big data.

I would like to be able to convert nodes to cases but can't find an easy way to do it. The reason is I am working with sections of text that are narratives in storied form. I need to do 2 kinds of analysis, the first breaks the stories down into elements based on structural characteristics. Then I will compare each of the six elements of structure across all narratives. The best way I can think of doing this is to code each story as a node, and structural elements as child nodes - hence allowing a GIOIA type approach. The second type of analysis I wish to do, is a content analysis within each story. in this instance I think it better to have a story coded holistically as a case, then create attribute classifications about the narrator and circumstances, and then code the content within the case as nodes to preserve the integrity of the story and the holistic sensemaking process of the narrator. It might be that I need to code each story as both a case and as a node, but conversion allowing a node to be changed to a case would provide more flexibility in how the researcher deals with levels of analysis and integral units of analysis.

I, and I am sure many users, like to configure the NVivo window in different ways depending on my current task. When I'm organizing files I want the detail pane on the bottom, no highlights, no stripes. When I'm coding I want detail on the side, certain highlight settings, and certain stripe settings. Sometimes when I am coding I want or need to make a quick adjustment to the organization of my data, or nodes, or want to revisit some annotations, but my "coding" setup for the NVivo window isn't great for that task. Currently, I need to manually rejig the NVivo window any time I switch tasks, or deal with the inadequacies of my current configuration. Ideally users should be able to create multiple, saveable, window configurations, perhaps tied to hotkeys. If I am coding, I can select my Coding configuration from Window in the Menu bar. If I'm reviewing codes, I can select my Reviewing config, if I'm doing a conceptual map, I select my Mapping config, etc. Several applications have similar systems on macOS. DEVONthink Pro Office and Logic Pro are two examples that could serve as models.

Hi, Can you please create a version of NCapture that runs on Firefox? The latest version of the browser is much preferred over Chrome, and yet for years, NCapture's not supported FF. Not sure why, but hope to see that change soon. Best, Sanjana

I'm using NVivo 12 for Mac for research and would like to print, export, view or move all my annotations but can't find the solution to do this - only a list and link to original source. The software won't allow to cut and paste into new NVivo document which would really help me. Any solution?

Would be great to have the same excel export Funktions in Mac as they are available in Windows.
