ipad coding

The most time intensive task in nvivo is coding documents. It will be perfect if an app can be developed which allows users to open projects on the ipad and code documents. This will significantly improve research productivity.Further analysis can remain on the computer versions of the software.

2024 and still no ipad app. I'm so disappointed and looking into Atlas.ti now.

Totally agree Nvivo for Ipad would be amazing - off to check out Atlas now...

This would be very valuable. Please make this a priority. This is the main reason I use atlas.ti instead of nvivo. Using the ipad and pencil to code helps prevent rsi.

Dr. Lucy van de Wiel: I wonder if anyone is reading these, I could use the mobile app so that I am not stuck in front of a computer....

The only reason for why I haven't bought NVIVO is the missing Ipad connection.

After buying Nvivo, spending hours watching tutorials, and even buying an Ipad mostly to completely transition to reading/coding without staring at my laptop all day, I was super disappointed to learn that there is no way to use nvivo on the ipad. Thought maybe the cloud version could be an easy fix, but alas, that's only for collaboration and cost extra. Help us out!

Also since MacOS will soon be able to run iPad apps natively and the iPad now has mouse support it seems logical to develop an iPad app from scratch that also has support for cloudbased collaboration across platforms. This would pretty much solve all my troubles.

I would definitely value an NVivo companion ipad app. I can imagine using it in several ways; familiarisation phase of reading & rereading transcripts and making notes. Also the next phases of initial coding. Also just generally being able to take my work in progress analysis anywhere easily, and having on hand to make notes, revisit themes, etc, is a huge advantage. I can imagine it having additional functionality that ipads can offer that isn't as practical on a desktop, such as manipulating mindmaps with your fingers, and moving themes and codes around, and making notes. Being able to 'play' with your ideas with your fingers seems natural and fun. Like adult playdough! So yes, let's have an ipad app please :)

Yes, yes to an iPad app. Desktop is too limiting these days
