Importing .txt files into NVivo 12 Mac takes FOREVER

I've downloaded the trial version of NVivo 12 Mac and, unfortunately, I’m not particularly impressed so far. Following the YouTube video instructions I started importing my .txt files into the program and it is taking incredibly long for the files to transfer. Is this normal?

Hi Angel,
Sorry to see you're experiencing file import issues. There is a known issue where text files can take quite some time to import. This issue is not related to the size of the file. One possible workaround is to convert/save your files to on Open Document text format (ODT format) before importing. The import of text files should be significantly faster if imported in ODT format. NVivoSupport: Thank you for your empathetic response. Just FYI, NVivo 12 for Mac took approximately 24 hours altogether to finish importing my text files. It is good to know there is a workaround, but it would be rather time-consuming to have to reformat an entire batch of text files just because an app does not work properly. Why not fix it instead so that .txt files can be imported in a matter of a few minutes and the workaround is no longer necessary? Best wishes, Á

NVivoSupport: Holy Moly! I stumbled on to this thread trying to sort out the same problem. I just spent 22 minutes waiting for 10 ascii text files (totaling approximately 30 kb). Your software choked on two of them rendering them unusable. How is it that this modern application can't handle simple ascii text? I'm genuinely perplexed.
